A Sober Reflection on Chinese in English Learning Craze

The enthusiasm for learning English has been on a rise. Comparatively, Chinese has been improperly neglected. However, the written form of Chinese, hanzi, making communications possible among people from different dialectal regions, is not only the carrier of Chinese culture, but also one of the signs of Chinese people's national identification. Chinese cannot be neglected in the present English learning craze, and a conclusion is drawn that only through linguistic policy orientation and an enhanced consciousness of the Chinese language can Chinese reconstruct its glory in the new millennium.
