The invention discloses a tractor protection method for a new energy automobile. When the new energy automobile is pulled to move, a three-phase short-circuit mode on the high-voltage side of an inverter is started, and simultaneously, cooling devices are started to cool down the high-voltage side of the inverter and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. When the pulling of the new energy automobile is stopped, the three-phase short-circuit mode on the high-voltage side of the inverter is turned off, and simultaneously, all cooling devices are turned off. The three-phase short-circuit mode on the high-voltage side of the inverter comprises that power switch devices of three upper bridge arms are turned off and power switch devices of three lower bridge arms are turned on simultaneously; or power switch devices of three upper bridge arms are turned on and power switch devices of three lower bridge arms are turned off simultaneously. The invention also discloses a corresponding implementation circuit. By the aid of the method and the circuit, a special tractor is not required to be used when the new energy automobile breaks down and is pulled to move, the pulling time or the speed is not limited, and the new energy automobile can be pulled to move freely.
