P‐57: Development of 5‐inch FHD IPS‐LCD Adopting New Pixel Structure Using Wall Electrodes

We have developed a 5-inch Full-HD (FHD) in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD) adopting wall electrodes perpendicular to the substrate. The structure shields unnecessary electric fields from signal lines and adjacent pixel electrodes by a common electrode. The structure realizes a transmittance higher than conventional IPS-LCDs by using a small wall electrode.
