Digital Valley Current Controlled Switching DC-DC Converters

To obtain the optimal digital valley current(DVC) control technique of switching DC-DC(direct current to direct current) converters,the principle of DVC controlled switching DC-DC converters in a continuous conduction mode was introduced.The control laws for DVC with four modulations,i.e.,leading-edge,trailing-edge,leading-triangle and trailing-triangle modulations,were investigated,and their stabilities were analyzed.The time-domain simulation of the DVC controlled switching DC-DC converters was performed.Simulation and experiment results show that a DVC controlled switching DC-DC converter with the trailing-edge modulation instead of the other modulations has an excellent load transient characteristic with a voltage overshoot of 62 mV and a response time of 1.118 ms.
