Autonomous Control System Architecture

This chapter introduces the basic architecture of autonomous systems for intelligent control and operation systems for use in power systems. The functional architecture enabling the application of agent techniques is based on fundamental theoretical aspects. The operational architecture for control systems of power systems is defined and characterized. The proposed autonomous system structure enables the thorough usage of Information Technology (IT) to achieve a higher degree of automation and a more reliable operation of electrical power systems.
