Efficacy of anticoagulant rodenticides against rodents

2004
Objective To investigate the effect of Brodifacoum against rodents in field and lab experiment. Methods The lethal effect was tested by continuous force feeding, and the palatability was tested by selective feeding in laboratory. The field experiments were conducted by saturated baiting. Results The Brodifacoum formulation killed albino rats for 100% in eight days and killed white mouse 100% in nine days in laboratory. The palatability were 0.85 for albino rats and 0.79 for white mouse. Mortality was 91.91% for killing nature rodents in the field. Conclusion The formulation of Brodifacoum was better to kill the mouse. The palatability was also better. This Brodifacoum formulation could reduce the density of rodents.
