MAXIMIZING ENERGY IN BROILER RATION BY FAT

2010
The experiment was carried out in Dhanbari upazila under Tangail district during the period from January to March 2009 to evaluate the performance of broiler fed diets that contained palm oil refinery by-products replacing the corn. A total of 99 Cobb-500 broilers were allocated to control group (T1), 46% oil group (T2) and 61% oil group (T3). Each group contained 33 birds. Birds were fed diet containing equal level of energy. The control group birds fed with the mixture of feed that was commonly used in broiler ration. The diets for T2 and T3 group contained palm oil as energy source. The result reveals that the feeding of oil instead of corn had better performance. The performance of T3 group was better than T2 and control group in same management system. There was no mortality of birds during the experiment. There was no other abnormality observed in the birds. So, it was concluded that palm oil enriched ration was superior for better production with lower production cost.
