PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a novel and easily synthesizable ionic liquid. SOLUTION: This ionic liquid comprises a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein (n) is an integer of 1 to 8 and is the number of phosphazenium cations; Z n- is an active hydrogen compound anion derived by the removal of n protons from an active hydrogen compound having 8 active hydrogen atoms at maximum; (a), (b), (c), and (d) are each a positive integer of 3 or smaller or 0, provided that they can not be 0 simultaneously; and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , R 8 , R 9 , R 10 , R 11 , R 12 , R 13 , R 14 , R 15 , R 16 , R 17 , R 18 , R 19 , R 20 , R 21 , R 22 , R 23 , and R 24 , which may the same or different from each other, are each a monovalent group, provided that the members in each of the pairs: R 1 and R 2 , R 3 and R 4 , R 5 and R 6 , R 7 and R 8 , R 9 and R 10 , R 11 and R 12 , R 13 and R 14 , R 15 and R 16 , R 17 and R 18 , R 19 and R 20 , R 21 and R 22 , and R 23 and R 24 may be bonded to each other to form a ring structure).
