Det onde som evigt princip eller som produkt af menneskets frie valg : Om Titus af Bostras traktat Fire bøger mod manikærne

1996
In their controversies with anti-cosmic »heresies« most Church Fathers defended the goodness of the world created by God by deriving evil from the free choice of man. The 4th century anti-Manichaean treatise of bishop Titus of Bostra is an extreme example of such a theology, marked by a rationalist moralism. This article places the viewpoints of Titus in their context within the history of Christian theology and raises the question whether the early Greek theologians were negatively dependant on the position of their anti-cosmic opponents.
