Concept of Parkinson Leading to Understanding Mechanisms of the Disease

The challenge of neurodegenerative diseases (ND) is an aging population. The second after Alzheimer’s most common ND Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized mainly by motor but also by cognitive disorders. In the longitudinal study, we have measured PD symptoms progression by UPDRS (Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale) as a decision attribute, eye movements (EM), and cognitive tests, such as MMSE (Mini-Mental State Exam), FAS (verbal fluency), CVLT (California Verbal Learning Test) as condition attributes.
