Evidence of Compensatory Preload Adjustment on Phase in Patrents With Stable Angina Good Left Ventricular Systolic Function

1995
It is well known that in the early stage of coronary artery disease, alterations of left ventricular (LV) relaxation without impairment of LV systolic function can be detected.’ It is also accepted that the LV relaxation period primarily influences the subsequent early LV filling phase. 1-3 The combined use of hemodynamic and echocardiographic techniques has gained a primary role4.s in the study of LV diastolic function because it provides a more accurate knowledge of the characteristics and underlying mechanisms of the early diastolic phase. We examined LV relaxation and early LV filling phase in patients with stable angina pectoris and good LV systolic function using a combined hemodynamic and echo-Doppler method. . . .
