Laparoscopic removal of Uterine cyst in a Rhesus macaque (Macaca mullata)

2012
A free range female rhesus macaque was observed with bleeding from the vagina and vulvar swelling. On laparoscopic examination a round structure, measuring 6–7 cm was found attached to the dorsal surface of the uterus. The diagnosed uterine cyst was deflated by aspiration of fluid and was removed laparoscopically by bipolar cauterization and cutting. Animal was released after complete wound healing.
