OSSEC Based Authentication Process with Minimum Encryption and Decryption Time for Virtual Private Network

2016
The OSI model is implemented for protection &security of crucial information to be accessed by hackers in thetransmission process. The OSI model applies a security system likeIPSec (Internet Protocol Security) incorporated in network layer &SSL (Socket Secured Layer) in transport layer. The PPTP (Point toPoint Tunneling Protocol) is implemented in data link layer todevelop a tunnel that is secured for exchange of data is a one waytransmission and is termed as VPN (Virtual Private Network). Ahighly strengthened method for authentication is applied forimprovising the reliability & security of VPN apart fromconventional username & password technique. In the PreviousPaper [15], try to suggest some procedures for producing a processof authentication that is covered in two steps in the PPTP VPN thatis also termed as External Database Authentication. Thefundamental advantage of this methodology is that information ofthe user can be stored in a authenticate dedicated server, in whichlarge number of directory-based user data securely store. Thisapproach can be used to increase the functionality of theLightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server. LDAPserver is organized in an organized LAN, in order of authenticationprocess of PPTP VPN. In this paper, we are proposing the OSSECsystem for reducing the encryption and decryption time of the VPNnetwork. From the results session, it is clear that the encryptionand decryption time get reduce up to 22 % from OSSEC basedVPN server as compared to LDAP protocol based VPN server.
