On the reaction of perfluoroalkyl halides in the presence of alcohols and bases

Abstract Perfluoroalkyl halides react in the presence of bases and alcohols to give the corresponding 1 H -perfluoroalkanes. The kinetics of the reaction were studied. The mechanism seems to involve perfluoroalkyl radicals and anions.
