Cerebrovascular complications of cardiac catheterization

Abstract Cerebrovascular accidents are rare but known complications from both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization. These complications may be temporary or permanent and can be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. We describe the more common of these complications and discuss their physiologic basis.
