The use of CT scan examination in pediatric limb fractures - our experience with two cases

2017
Limb fractures in children can represent a diagnosing challenge on the initial X- Ray exam. Although rarely used in this age- group, a CT scan exam may help to identify the fracture pattern and clarify treatment options. We present 2 cases of pediatric limb fractures in which the CT scan exam with 3-D reconstruction was able to identify missed bone lesions. Judicious use of CT scan exam should be considered as part of the clinical management in such difficult cases.
