The Crystal Structure of p-Iodobenzamide,C_7H_6NOI
1972
The crystal structure of P-iodobenzamide has been determined from twodimensional X-ray data. Crystals are monoclinic with four molecules in a unit cell of dimensions ' a=31.37i, b=5.304, c=4.936 A; P=107.820 The space group is P2i/a. It is found that hydrogen bonds' connect pairs of molecules into centrosymmetrical dimers which are themselves linked by further hydrogen bonds into endless chains extended along the c axis.
