Terbium luminescence under X-rays from YAlO 3 composite deposited on porous anodic alumina

2013
Terbium-doped yttrium aluminum composite was synthesized by the co-precipitation method. The deposition was made by spinning of the aqueous-alcoholic solution of aluminum and yttrium salts on a porous anodic alumina formed on a monocrystalline silicon substrate. The YAlO 3 phase was revealed after the heat treatment at 1000° C. The terbium luminescence excited by X-rays was observed along with the intense photoluminescence. The synthesis procedure is of interest for the development of radiation-resistant film luminescents.
