Single-cell epigenomics: Methods and translation

2020
Abstract Epigenomics is the genome-wide mechanism of controlling the heritable changes, independent of the standard genetic changes. In the last few decades, the single cell epigenomics has been a fast growing field, with lots of promising single cell epigenomics technologies emerging. With the application of these newly established single cell technologies, many long-standing biological questions have been addressed with deep insight, such as cell fate decision in the early development and cell to cell heterogeneity in the tumor. In this chapter, we give a brief summary of the available single cell epigenomics technologies and the translation of these technologies in both basic and medical research.
