A W-band feeding network for a single balanced mixer in GCPW technology

2018
In this paper, the design of the passive network of a Single Balanced Mixer at 92 GHz is presented. It has been developed using GCPW technology working in the range of 84–96 GHz, having an IF frequency of 2 GHz. This mixer is considered as a part of the receiver system using WR-10 standard port as RF port (transition design also included), which enables an easy connection of a horn antenna. ACST gmbh diode 3DSF5 Zero-Bias Diode, suitable for a input power between −10dBm and 2dBm without DC bias, has been chosen in order to work with a low power photonic local oscillator. In cases were there are severe constrains in terms of power, this configuration offers an alternative solution to commercial mixers.
