A Qualitative Insight of Singapore' s Green Mark Rating System

Green building bench-marking systems or "assessments" are intended to measure and report sustainable building design,construction and operation in an integrated manner.This paper begins with a short history of green building benchmarking systems and provides a brief insight into Singapore's Green Mark rating system.The second part of the paper deals with qualitative comparisons of the Green Mark scheme with other global rating standards such as USGBC's LEED rating system.The third and concluding part talks about various organizations that are involved in delivering the Green Mark Scheme in Singapore and their relative significance in the whole process.
