espanolEl articulo pretende explorar el significado y la funcion del ordo rationis dentro de la doctrina moral de Tomas de Aquino. Indicios abundantes y convergentes invitan a reconocer tal nocion, siendo un principio de conjunto que estructura la etica tomista en su totalidad. Viceversa, el dispositivo del ordo rationis desarrolla una rica funcion heuristica, ya que permite una comprension detallada y homogenea de numerosos temas mayores de la etica tomista, entre ellos: la configuracion de los actos humanos y su especificacion moral, la clasificacion de las virtudes a partir de su modo de regulacion, y la articulacion de los preceptos de ley natural en relacion con las excelencias virtuosas. EnglishThe article seeks to explore the meaning and function of ordo rationis within Thomas Aquinas’ moral doctrine. Abundant and converging signs invite to recognize such notion, being a general principle that structures the Thomistic ethics in its totality. Conversely, the device of ordo rationis develops a rich heuristic function, since it allows a detailed and homogeneous understanding of numerous major themes of Thomistic ethics, including: the configuration of human acts and their moral specification, the classification of virtues on the basis of their mode of regulation, and the articulation of the precepts of the natural law in relation to virtuous excellence.
