Towards a Truly Holistic Approach to Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy has always had problems explaining itself in reductionistic biomedical terms. This article looks at the reasons for this, challenges the ability of the model of human occupation to address this problem, and offers Engel's biopsychosocial model as an alternative.
