Diastereoselective synthesis of non-proteinogenic alpha-amino acids.

Abstract: The synthesis of enantiomerically pure azatyrosine, tribromophenylalanine and trichlorophenylalanine is described, using two methods, diastereoselective alkylation and (or) diastereoselective protonation of chiral enolates.
