Application of MTP intervention method in controlling nosocomial infection in surgical site

OBJECTIVE To explore the effective measures for the prevention and control of hospital infection due to the surgical site.METHODS The method of MTP intervention study was applied to the hospital infection after surgical operation from Jun 2006 to Jun 2009 and the consensus was finally reached through the targeted surveillance,intervention,feedback,discussion,the consolidate measures of prevention and control in hospital infection for surgical site were continuously improved and perfected.RESULTS After the application of MTP intervention method,the surgical site infection rate from 6.89% in 2006 declined to 2.01% in 2009,the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).CONCLUSION The risk factors of hospital infection in surgical sites can be effectively controlled by MTP intervention method,and the infection rate of surgical sites havd been reduced.MTP intervention method plays an important role in ensuring the medical quality and the patients′ safety.
