Preliminary Study on Antimicrobial Activity of Cestrum nocturnum L.

Objective:To study the antimicrobial activity of Cestrum nocturnum L..Methods:Antimicrobial activity of Cestrum nocturnum L.of three kinds of concentrations were experimented with filter paper.Results:Cestrum nocturnum L.shows antimicrobial activity to Dysentery bacilli and escherichia coli.With the increase of concentration of Cestrum nocturnum L.,the antimicrobial activity to Dysentery bacilli and escherichia coli also increased.But they had no antimicrobial activity to staphylococcus aureus.Conclusion: Cestrum nocturnum L.has remarkable antimicrobial activity to Dysentery bacilli and escherichia coli.
