Unexpected behaviour of the angular-correlation function between deuterons and alpha-particles emitted in the13C(6Li, dα) reaction at 34 MeV incident energy

1984
The deuteron-alpha-particle angular correlation for the13C(6Li, d)17O* → → α+13Cg.s. reaction has been measured at θlabd = 10°. The experimental data show marked oscillations that are inconsistent with the assumption of a primary (6Li, d) direct α-transfer process, populating the17O levels with definite spin values, followed by a sequential α-decay. An attempt is made to investigate the effects of the non-sequentiality; however, many physical problems remain to be clarified.
