The present invention relates to a process for the preparation containing silica Perlpolmerisate by producing a mixture of styrene, crosslinkers, finely divided surface-modified silicon dioxide, free-radical initiator, and optionally inert agent and curing the resulting mixture in aqueous phase at elevated temperature to give a bead polymer, the siliceous bead polymers themselves and their uses.
