A turbulence model for describing the interaction of a boundary layer with a large-scale turbulent flow

Flows in which a comparatively thin boundary layer is coupled with a large-scale turbulent flow are studied. The limitations of the current turbulence models are analyzed and a technique for refining these models, which makes it possible to resolve the problem of boundary-layer/turbulent-flow coupling is developed
