THE AMERICAN HEGEMONY AS REFLECTED BYCAPTAIN AMERICA IN THE AVENGERS ENDGAME FILMBY ANTHONY

This thesis discusses the American hegemony depicted by Captain America in the film the Avengers Endgame. The purpose of writing this study is (1) to determine the concept of American hegemony in the Avengers Endgame film (2) to analyze the impact of the American hegemony run by Captain America on other Avengers in the Avengers Endgame film. This study uses Antonio Gramsci's theory and a sociological approach to answer the three problems analyzed. The method used in analyzing this research is descriptive qualitative method. In the Avengers Endgame film, the concept of hegemony is found, namely hegemony culture, ideology, intellectuals and country. The United States instilled a doctrine to defend as a superpower through films. In the Avengers Endgame film scene, it depicts Captain America who dominates over the other Avengers, with his intellect so that he dominates and gets the position of leader. So that the hegemony carried out by Captain America has an impact on other Avengers such as enthusiasm in doing tasks or becoming weak.
