Copper‐Catalyzed Tandem C—N Bond Formation: An Efficient Annulative Synthesis of Functionalized Cinnolines.

A novel general access towards cinnoline derivatives is presented, involving Cu-catalyzed cyclization of o-haloarylvinyl bromides with hydrazinedicarboxylate (II), followed by base-mediated aromatization reaction.
