Preparation of advanced buffer layer architectures for YBa2Cu3Ox coated conductors based on surface oxidized Ni tapes

Abstract A newly developed SrZr 1− x Ti x O 3 single perovskite buffer was successfully applied on surface oxidized Ni tapes leading to highly textured YBCO films. An inductively measured T c above 88 K and inductive J c values up to 1 MA/cm 2 were achieved on Ni–0.1at.%Mo substrates indicating a similar quality as a standard BaZrO 3 /SrTiO 3 double layer.
