Modeling and analysis of shell & tube type heat exchanger for optimized performance

This paper represents the designing of shell tube heat exchangers with different baffle design. An experimental study has been carried out to see the effect of baffle design on the performance of std. shell tube heat exchanger and trefoil hole baffle type shell tube heat exchanger. According to the results, though the temperature distribution in std. STHE is little higher than Trefoil hole baffle type STHE, but in Trefoil hole baffle type STHE, velocity distribution and pressure drop is higher than the Std. STHE.
