The development course of chemical propellants and related important raw materials is retrospected.The main propellant kinds abroad are reviewed.The four key development stages and related main varieties of liquid propellants are briefly introduced.The development history of solid propellants is introduced by using binder as main line.It is pointed out that the future development trends of solid and liquid propellants are high energy,insensitivity,low signature,high density specific impulse,low vulnerability and relative eco-friendly.
