New electrofused chromium-aluminum-zirconium refractory for glassmaking furnaces

At the State Sclentific-Research Institute of Glass during 1975-77 a new highly stable electrofused chromium-alumlnum-zlrconlum refractory, intended for lining the most important sections of glassmaking tanks, has been developed [I]. The most important parameter of corrosion resistance in different silicate melts [2] of this material exceeds that of electrofused bacor refractories by two to five times.
