Based on the theoretical analysis of balance condition of the block of the drum brake, which is under the influence of three non-parallel forces, the formula is obtained for determining coordinates of the intersection point of three non-parallel forces (the necessary condition of brake blocks balance) acting upon the brake block. The availability of the coordinates of intersection points of three non-parallel forces acting upon brake blocks and depending on brake geometrical parameters and of the friction coefficients in the points of contact of brake blocks with release devices and brake blocks supports allows choosing brake parameters which increase its efficiency and speed.
