Cell Free Massive Mimo-Enabling Technology In Providing Uniformly Good Service To Users For 5g And B5g Mobile Communications

2019
Cell-Free Massive MIMO (CFMM) involves a large number of distributed single-antenna access points (APs) serving a much smaller number of users. There is no splitting into cells and each user is served by all APs. The word —cell-free‖ indicates that, from the perspective of a user, cell boundaries during data transmission does not exist—because all APs jointly cooperate to serve the users in a user-centric defined fashion. However implementing this technology with MASSIVE MIMO poses some challenges. This research provides a comprehensive literature review of potentials, technologies and open areas that can enable this technology realizable for 5G and B5G(Beyond 5G) mobile wireless communication.
