Abstract We studied the renal effects of nicardipine, a calcium entry blocker, in seven patients with mild-to-moderate essential hypertension. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal blood flow (RBF) were measured by means of thiosulfate and para-aminohippurate, respectively.
