Magnetic properties of structurally organized sodium ferrophenylsiloxane

2008
The Mosbauer spectrum and magnetic properties of individual sodium ferrophenylsiloxane were studied. Peculiar magnetic organization of iron metal oxide clusters in this compound was established. The cluster spin (9/2) is a result of antiferromagnetic compensation of four Fe ions with simultaneous parallel spin alignment of the other two Fe ions. This makes sodium ferrophenylsiloxane a promising base for the design of molecular ferromagnets.
