Spectral and angular distribution of radiation from advanced wigglers with sharply peaked magnetic fields

Abstract The spectral and angular distribution and the angle integrated frequency distribution of the radiation from a transverse wiggler with sharply peaked on-axis magnetic field and arbitrary strength parameter K are calculated exactly and asymptotically in the neighbourhood of the critical frequency. The results are shown graphically and their implications are discussed.
