Synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-ones catalysed by fluorapatite doped with metal halides

Abstract The fluorapatite doped with metal halide (ZnCl 2 , CuCl 2 and NiCl 2 ) catalyses the three-component Biginelli reaction to afford the corresponding dihydropyrimidin-2-ones in high yields. This heterogeneous catalysis has been carried out in liquid phase using ethanol as solvent.
