Clinical significance of CD24 protein expression in humanrenal cell carcinoma

2007
Objective:To investigate the clinical significance of CD24 protein expression in human renal cell carcinoma. Methods: CD24 protein expression of 60 renal cell carcinomas were analysed by SP immunohistochemistry. Results:All normal renal tissues had negtive expression of CD24 protein. The positive rate of CD24 protein expression in renal cellcarcinoma was 68.33%(41/60).The higher the grade and the clinical stage of tumor were, the lower the expression of CD24 protein, and the differences between groups are of statistical significance(P0.05).Conclusions:The expression of CD24 protein has positive correlation with the grade and the clinical stage of tumor(P0.05). The expression of CD24 protein may play a significant role in the development of the renal cell cancer and be a prognostic marker for disease-free survival in the renal cell cancer.
