Single-mode non-strippable primary coated fiber

2001
A single-mode nonstrippable primary coated (SM-NSP) fiber covered with a thin polymer has been successfully developed. This fiber has good mechanical and environment reliability, and can be fusion-spliced to SM fibers with low splice loss. In this report, we describe the structure and the size accuracy of an SM-NSP fiber. The mechanical reliability, the splice loss of this fiber and optical properties under various environmental conditions are also discussed.
