Study on increasing transgenic efficiency in pigs

Four kinds of gene (such as POMT/PGH, PSV40/PGH, POMT/PGH-Microsatellite DNA and PMHR) are microinjected into 2592 embryos of Hubei white pig, and the transgenic pigs have been obtained appropriately. Total transgenic efficiency is 2.1%. Some factors of effecting transgene have been tested for the system. By superovulation, the ovulation number is increased by 2.1 times. For every receptor, the implanted transgenic embryo number is 20-29. In planting the same number embryos, the pregnancy rate and pigging rate of pig with self-implant are higher than 30.7% (p<0.05) and 15.1% (P<0.01) approprately. The experiment brought the evidence about checking integration and expression of transgenic pig and phenotypic performances and genetic forms to be decided by aim gene.
