The invention relates to a method for slidingly controlling a camera via a touch screen device. The method is applied to a communication link system of the touch screen device and a camera with a rotatable lens, and includes the steps that video information of the camera is acquired by the touch screen device through a communication network and is displayed on a touch screen; a user slides a finger or touches the touch screen displaying the video information of the camera to identify operating equipment, and start position information and end position information of the sliding on the touch screen device are acquired; the touch screen device judges the sliding direction according to the start position information and the end position information so as to identify a control command from the user for rotating the lens of the camera; the touch screen device transmits a control command to the camera according to the control command from the user for rotating the lens of the camera, and then rotation control to the camera is finished. The method for slidingly controlling the camera via the touch screen device is simple, convenient, space saving on the screen, and has high practical value particularly on the touch screen device with valuable screen space.
