Anomalous dichroism and birefringence of SrTiO3 crystals

Results are presented from an investigation of optical anisotropy parameters such as the dichroism (Δκ) and birefringence (Δn) or pure single crystals of SrTiO 3 and those activated by Fe-group ions (Fe, Cr, V). The results enable the effects of various defect-forming mechanisms on the anisotropy parameters to be qualitatively and quantitatively calculated
