Formation and its Influencing Factors of Polyamic Acid Nano-emulsion

2009
Polyamic acid(PAA) nano-emulsions were formed by adding an amine and a non-solvent of PAA to a solution of PAA in turn. These droplets range in size from 50 to 100 nm supported by light-scattering particle size analyzer and transmission electron microscopy. The results showed that polyamic acid salt was of great importance for the formation of nano-emulsion.Further,the effects of varied amounts of components for polyamic acid, amine, and methonal on the nano-emulsion were investigated. To get a stable nano-emulsion in methanol, the following ratios are required: amine/COOH=0.6~0.7,non-solvent /solvent=1.5~2.25.
