Metodologia de salvamento de Bromeliaceae, Cactaceae e Orchidaceae na pequena central hidreletrica (PCH) Salto Forquet-Sao Jose do Herval /Putinga-RS-Brasil

2005
When performing “Survey, collection and transplantation of Bromeliaceae, Cactaceae and Orchidaceae” as a legal requirement for obtaining an environmental license for the Forqueta Fall Power Plant, in Forqueta River, at the boundary between Sao Jose do Herval and Putinga (Rio Grande do Sul, Southern Brazil), implemented by Teutonia Rural Electrification Cooperative Society (CERTEL), were designed several methods for the proper removal, quantification and reintroduction of the specimens of the above mentioned families occurring in the flooding area. Such methodology started with the survey which reported the occurrence of 46 specimens of Orchidaceae, 14 of Bromeliaceae, and 11 of Cactaceae families, followed by the removal and transplantation of 141,686 specimens to the Permanent Preservation Area. A follow-up study on the survival of the transplanted specimens reports a mean rate of 67% for Bromeliaceae, 80.7% for Cactaceae and 73.6% for Orchidaceae.
