Thermal and solvent annealing of block copolymer films

Thermal and solvent annealing are two effective ways to manipulate the orientation and lateral ordering of block copolymers (BCPs) microdomains in thin films. In this chapter, the ordered engineering of microphase separation of BCPs thin films by thermal and solvent annealing process is described in terms of the fundamental considerations and influencing factors. Some recent promising developments, such as the combination of solvent annealing and thermal annealing, are discussed, and future research directions are proposed.
