Experiment on cuttage of small branch of Ficus microcarpa.

2013
【Objective】The effects of plant growth regulators viz., NAA,IBA and ABT on cuttage survival rate of Ficus microcorp were studied to provide technical support for swift mass propagation of Ficus microcorp. 【Method】In August2012, robust disease-free two-year-old Ficus microcorp cutting slips with 0.8-1.5 cm of diameter were soaked in NAA,IBA and ABT under different concentrations for 5 min and then put into different matrix. Two months later, seedlings were sampled to observe and investigate the survival rate, mean rooting length, mean rooting number, mean shoot number and mean shoot length. 【Result】The results showed that different plant growth regulators and different concentrations had significant impacts on the cuttage survival rate. The treatment with 600 mg/L NAA and 1000 mg/L ABT could best enhance cutting propagation with the survival rate of 60.0% and 50.0%, respectively. The survival rate in 600 mg/L IBA treatment was considerably higher than that of the control only. The cutting medium had significant effects on the survival rate. The loam was the best growth promoter and its survival rate was 45.0%. 【Conclusion】Ficus microcorp cutting slips with 0.8-1.5cm diameter as treated with 600 mg/L NAA grew best in loam.
